Aft gang agly
buncha links

Thought I was so clever banking URLs for later blogging on my bookmarks toolbar in Chimera (Navigator) till it just became another pile like all the stacks of paper in my real world. How long before my browsing window is down to a tickertape?

Boing Boing Nation
Speaking of blogs that reach that swift updraftian rapture, is this the Boing Boing Decade or what?

Boing Boing Generation?

I want my Boing Boing TV!

Yeah, not just a Boing Boing show, but a whole SCTV-like network.

Let's see...

I'd watch Captain Doctoroo with the kids in the morning.

Tune into The Markneil Frauenlehrer Newshour in the afternoon, and then later watch I Dream of Xeni. We'd have to fit Sideshow Blog in there somewhere.

I don't want to work, I just want to bang on my blogs all day.

Insert clever pun on 'power law'
Notes need links, syntax:

What is the exact power? (kottke's model) Has this number changed? Does it change? Is it changing?

If so, what is it approaching?

If so, is shape changing to become closer to L or ? (I suspect L)

If so, then there are really two categories, verticals and horizontals with an unstable region.

If your goal is to become vertical, fight like made to get to that middle otherwise, enjoy the horiztonal blogging and marvel when the rapture hits any one individual and they essentially ascend from blogging (horizontal) and become media outlet

As with US economy, "middle" (class) is an elusive concept

Even the fixes to technorati at best hasten the fitting of the people to their "proper" "deserved" "earned" "market-determined" place on the curve.

(x-ref ross mayfield's work supporting the three types theory)

Is movement possible? Of course!

Is it harder to get to the middle (of course it gets harder to get to vertical)

Is any of this a reason not to blog?

Make Saddam an offer he can't refuse
The Bush Crime Family meme I've seen bandied about on the Well and elsewhere has spawned a comic at the Village Voice, The Bushopranos.

Where are those humorless lefties when you need them? This cartoon fights the Bush restoration/rematch narrative that put their team within striking distance of the prize with a psychoanalytical reprise of the one-term Bush "not getting it" syndrome.

This morning I woke up in a curfew...
First-hand reports from Miguel Octavio of The Devil's Excrement indicate that Hugo Chavez has jailed opposition leaders in Venezuala:
Woke up in a Dictatorship today
Today I woke up in a Dictatorship. Up to now Hugo Chavez and his hoodlums had been using the law to "hide" the repressive and intolerant nature of this Government. Last night they detained one of the two most important leaders of the opposition and an order is out to capture the Head of the Federation of Unions (CTV) the other visible leader of the opposition. The charge: treason and inciting rebellion. This is political, this is repressive and coupled with assasinations last Monday indicates to me that Chavez has decided to step out of Democracy. The charges against the two most important leaders of the opposition are just an excuse to neutralize them and silence others. The Government quickly charges two political opponents on these charges, but assasins from April are still free or not charged, no investigation has been made of other gunmen on Dec. 6th. and many other political and violent crimes have yet to be investigated. But this one has, with efficiency. Maybe the world will now understand what is going on here in Venezuela.

JD's Media Musings moves
Journo-blogger J.D. Lasica has moved his JD's Media Musings blog from Manila to Movable Type, and from jd.manilasites.com to jdlasica.com. (In doing so, he notes, he is forfeiting his No. 2 ranking among Manila sites.) He doesn't mention why he left Manila.
